You know you're IQ challanged when...

...."simple" layouts for wooden Thomas the Tank Engine tracks baffle you to the point of tears.

Do ya think I can create a simple figure 8 so the Booger can send his trains in endless circles?

Do ya think I can figure out how to incorporate the windmill, stop house and two bridges for "interesting" terrain without multiple dead ends?

NO! NO! and NOOOOO!

(ages 2+)

Kyle likes to "trash!" his trains (toddler-speak for crash). If the layout is not condusuve to collision, he gets bored. I say let him create his own layouts. Which he's doing right now (finally).

John can whip up a layout in 5 minutes or less. Me? Not at all. Not if I had 5 years. Am I the only one intellectually challenged by this popular introductory train set?

It's humbling to be unable to achieve something my two year old son can conquer with ease. And THEY say adults are smarter than toddlers...

(listen to the crickets... ciccadas.... dung beetles...)

More proof that I'm entirely lacking a left side to my brain.

Don't get me started on spreadsheets and Xcell (HATE that software).

I do words, not track layouts. ;)

Notice what Booger's Jacket says... sigh!

Don't worry hon. It's this generation. My nephew could turn on, set up, and beat some sort of dinosaur game on his PlayStation 2 when he was 4 years old. I couldn't figure out how to make the stupid thing jump.

I just think it's a guy thing. Let the men do it. :)

I live in Excel...at least at work, but I can understand it being a challenging tool to anybody who isn't a proficient techie. Someday I'll try to get as good at OpenOffice.org Calc (a non-M!cr0$0ft spreadsheet product that don't co$t near as much... free).

Eh, don't worry about it... he'll be building his own in no time. And probably, blowing them up.

Darcie, you are not alone in this crazy workd of wooden trains. What I do is go online and Goolge an image of the train track set up my son wants and try to go from there. How did Moms do it before Google is what I would like to know! How did Moms do anything before the internet??!! I know that I would be LOST.

My grown kids still make fun of me because I once tried to take an IQ test (On some software) and I couldn't even figure out how to open the program. They said that was an automatic fail!
